Cedric cassimo

Cedric Cassimo (Wikipedia) is an exceptional visual artist and a recognized virtuoso in the art of sand animation. He is one of the few artists in the world who master the infinitely delicate and poetic art of sand animation, creating live stage performances. He was privileged to be initiated into sand animation for film by Caroline Leaf, the creator of this art form and a teacher at the National Film and Television School in the United Kingdom.

In 2006, he co-founded the artistic company Lunidea, which produces various interdisciplinary creations, including the show “Insaisis’sable” with the Leicester Square Theatre in London. This show toured in Switzerland during the 2012-2013 season and both the audience and the press were “sandwiched”. His next show, produced by the Théâtre du Jorat in 2014, also met with great success.

The exceptional quality of his sand animations, which blend this unique and poetic art with other forms of visual art, has led him to collaborate with artists such as Bastian Baker, Henri Dès, virtuoso violinists, and renowned companies such as Omega, Jaeger-Lecoultre, Chopard, Fondation IRP, HSBC, organizations such as the United Nations, and the Menuhin Festival, to name just a few.

A new production, “Les Secrets du Petit Prince”, in collaboration with the Menuhin Academy and Jean-Marc Richard, came to life in December 2016 at the prestigious Rosey Concert Hall. This show is currently being prepared for a tour in Switzerland and France. In 2017, in addition to the show “Les Secrets du Petit Prince,” Cedric Cassimo produced a new creation, “Pinocchio”, with the Chamber Orchestra of Lausanne for performances at the Metropole Hall in Lausanne, the Stravinski Auditorium in Montreux, and the Au Lac Theater in Lugano. “Les Secrets du Petit Prince” received acclaim in March 2019 at the Stravinski Auditorium for a special performance in support of “la Chaîne du Bonheur”.

Also recognized as a talented tattoo artist, Cedric Cassimo created Mosaics Tattoo in 2013, which has become a benchmark in Switzerland and beyond.
